Purdue women's basketball offseason tracker: Reynolds sisters leaving program
The departures leave the Boilermakers with eight players for next season but additions from the transfer portal are expected
Back from Indianapolis and Gainbridge Fieldhouse where chatter about the Boilermakers remained high despite missing out on the Big Ten tournament.
• Mila and Amiyah Reynolds have decided not to return, according to sources. The 30-day transfer portal window opens on March 25. Their younger sister, Kira Reynolds, isn’t expected to join the program next season. She was one of three members in the 2025 recruiting class,

The departures leave the program with eight players heading into next season before any portal additions. Katie Gearlds is looking to add transfers, especially at point guard, to enhance the roster.
Brownsburg center Avery Gordon and Keona Douwstra, a combo guard from The Netherlands, are the two remaining players in the 2025 class.
Mila Reynolds started her career in Maryland but left after one season. Amiyah Reynolds signed with the Terrapins in 2021 but opted out following her sister’s departure.
Gearlds signed both in May 2023, giving the program two top-60 prospects and re-establishing Purdue’s presence in Indiana. The addition of Mila and Amiyah paved the way for Gearlds to sign their youngster sister, a do-everything player considered one of the top recruits in the state and the nation.

Mila Reynolds missed the first four games of her first season with the Boilermakers with an injury and never got on track. She didn’t play this season after undergoing wrist surgery.
Amiyah Reynolds redshirted her first season after suffering a severe foot injury at the end of her senior season at South Bend Washington. She played her first game in 17 months when Purdue traveled to Europe in the summer.
She slowly worked her way into the rotation and was expected to handle the point guard position. Amiyah Reynolds never looked comfortable after dealing with turnovers and physical play this season. She dealt with a shin issue late in the season.
The Boilermakers were counting on Kira Reynolds to bring more athleticism and play-making abilities to the program, but they’ll need to search elsewhere to replenish the roster.
• Elsewhere, Wisconsin announced the resignation of coach Marisa Moseley on Sunday night. Moseley guided the program for four seasons. Her resignation comes over a month after one of her former players alleged that Moseley and her staff mistreated her. Tessa Towers left the program and now attends Ball State. More from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
This allows center Serah Williams, an All-Big Ten first-team selection, to jump into the transfer portal before the official date. Players can enter the portal when there’s a coaching change or if they’re graduate transfers. Williams might wait until the school hires a new coach or test the market by submitting her name. She’ll command six figures in revenue-sharing and NIL opportunities.

If she's available, Purdue wouldn't appear to be a landing spot for Williams. Current freshmen Kendall Puryear, Lana McCarthy and Gordon, an incoming signee from Brownsburg, are scheduled to play inside. McCarthy and Puryear are expected to increase their shooting range during the offseason. Williams has expanded her range and might be an option at power forward for some programs.
However, if the Boilermakers are to take a significant step forward, they’ll need to invest resources in an experienced point guard.
• In other Big Ten coaching news, Northwestern’s Joe McKeown is expected to return despite three straight seasons of nine victories. McKewon completed his 17th season with the Wildcats and has a 268-258 record with the program. Next season is McKeown’s 40th as a head coach.
The Portal— Purdue loses 3 players in one day— I predicted that it was coming-and we could not dodge it— The portal wants the best players— look at the football team—and I will have to say there are others that people want— but will they leave ?— Only the players know the answer to that.—- Once a player makes up their mind to enter the portal— personally— I would not try to talk them out of it— that’s me— if they are looking—they are probably not happy and it is time to cut the string— sad— but that’s life— it happens all the time. We have some promising players so I hope everything turns out OK—Jones-Poole-Layden-Swanson-Harper-Bass and others that I think will be a big part of next year— not to mention our 2 freshman centers that did real well this year—it will be very interesting what happens— the INL will play a big part in this also— I know this puts a lot of pressure on the coaching staff— but I say we will be alright— Purdue is a great place to play and get an education—. So I’m hoping for the best—GO BOILERS!!
I'm afraid it's over for Katie Gearlds except for the press conference thanking her for her loyalty to Purdue and for her hard work. Question is, will Bobinski fire her or will it be a new AD?
